Hi I am having significant troubles getting my grass to overtake the weeds any advice would be appreciated and also how can I stop Japanese beetles from eating up my rosebush?

The best way to handle the weeds is to pull them out by the roots..putting on the poisons will in some way damage the soil. I know lots of people will beg to differ but nothing like getting down on your hands and knees and pulling out the weeds by the roots.
Sometimes if you dampen the soil the weeds more readily let loose. I have not suggestions about the japanese beetles and so look foward to seeing what others suggest. |

I agree that pulling the weeds is the way to go. This may sound corny coming from a guy, but if you like books on tape (or CD) put one in your portable player and get out there for a little while. The story will keep your mind off of the mundane task at hand.
